Meg leads the Career Pathways office at Berkeley Lab. In this role, she oversees the Lab’s Postdoc Program, Berkeley Lab Graduate Bridge Fellowship, Early Career Enrichment Program, Annual Research SLAM, Scientist and engineer appointments, and the annual Director’s Awards process. Meg is passionate about her work in the Career Pathways Office and assisting early-career scientists in career and professional development. Meg earned her Bachelor's Degree from Sacramento State University in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resources, and an M.A. in Education at the University of San Francisco. In her free time, Meg enjoys reading, traveling, cycling, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog (Duke)!

Justin Placencia

Operations Analyst

Justin is a Senior Administrator with the Lab Directorate's Career Pathways Office, where he provides a wide range of program support duties working with Postdocs, early career researchers, and lab staff. Justin graduated from UC Merced in 2010 and has spent the last 10 years working in education. Prior to working at Berkeley Lab, Justin was a Senior Program Coordinator with UC Berkeley Extension's academic program in Project Management. In his free time, Justin enjoys traveling, cooking, camping, and training his dogs.


Stefanie Harding

Senior Program Coordinator

Stef is a Senior Program Coordinator with the Lab Directorate's Career Pathways Office, where she supports the NexGen Fellowship Project and the Scientist and Engineer appointment process. Stef earned her B.A. degree in Graphic Design from CSU Hayward and recently graduated with an M.A. in Education from the University of San Francisco. Stef has over twenty years of experience working in education. 


Linda Louie

Career Development Program Manager

Linda Louie is the Career Development Program Manager in the Lab Directorate’s Career Pathways Office. In this role, she offers coaching and programs to facilitate the educational, professional, and personal success of postdoctoral, early- and mid-career researchers. Linda is passionate about cultivating inclusive spaces for learning and mentorship. Before joining the Lab, Linda led career development programs for researchers at UCSF and UC Berkeley. She holds degrees in language and literature from Cornell University (BA) and UC Berkeley (PhD), where she taught French and conducted qualitative research on curriculum development. Outside of work, Linda enjoys hiking, cooking, reading mystery novels, and building Legos with her two sons.

Sarah Morgan

Student Assistant

Sarah is a Student Assistant in the Career Pathway's Office (CPO), where she supports various projects, including social media posts and the Postdoc Alumni Project. Currently enrolled at University of the Pacific, Sarah is pursuing a major in English. She aspires to use her degree to become a high school English teacher. Prior to joining CPO, Sarah participated in LBNL's Experiences in Research Program (EinR)  last summer, where she interviewed Senior Scientists and learned more about their metrics for promotion. In her free time, she enjoys working out, singing, dancing, and helping the community in any way she can. She also very much enjoys the company of my family and friends. Her biggest aspiration is to make anyone smile, because frowning is harder than smiling! 


Elton Wu

Student Assistant

Elton is a Student Assistant with the Career Pathways Office (CPO), where he supports the team on various projects, including the Postdoc Alumni and the annual LBNL Career Fair. Currently enrolled at San Jose State University, Elton is pursuing a major in Civil Engineering and hopes to expand his experience and connections with the Lab. Prior to joining the CPO, Elton participated in LBNL's Experiences in Research Program (EinR) and Berkeley Lab's Director's Apprenticeship Program (BLDAP). During his leisure time, Elton enjoys activities such as hiking, cycling, and playing volleyball.
