Mid-Career Advisory Board

The Mid-Career Scientist & Engineer Advisory Board (MCAB) was established to build community and support by bringing together mid-career scientists and engineers from across the Lab's Areas. The Board advises on and helps co-develop programs, events, and resources, and delivers an annual report to the Deputy Lab Director for Research on mid-career needs, challenges, and retention strategies. Board members serve two-year terms and work in close partnership with the Career Pathways Office to support the Lab's stewardship of its people in mid-career.

Fall 2025: Board members nominated by ALDs; Board assembles and begins meeting
March 2026: Board member leads Science-Ops Partnerships Dine-Around discussion
April 2026: Board members speak on "The Hidden Curriculum of Mid-Career" panel as part of Early-Career Enrichment Program
Spring 2026: Board members consult on and help disseminate the new Lab-wide Mid-Career Leadership Director's Award
April 2026: Passage of the Board's founding charter
